I recently sent an email to a friend of mine about Rick Ankiel, and the fact that he is playing some good/decent enough outfield for the St. Louis Cardinals farm system. If you dont remember, this is the guy who for the first two seasons of hes career for the Cards, he was a pretty decent pitcher.

After some consecutive playoff melt downs, he was shipped off to the minors. At the time I had heard rumors that he was going to try his hand at the outfield. Laughable at best. Now it seems that he actually is hitting for the Cards AAA team.
Anyway, now it seems that someone else has run into the enigma that is Mr. Ankiel. With the way that the Cardinals are playing right now, I would think that would try anything to get the offense back on track. Right now they are 5th in the central, and have lost 4 straight for a record of 19 and 26. I say give the guy the call. Or trade him to the Royals for real prospects instead. Just dont call him in for late inning relief.
