OK, I'll be the First to Say It

So you leave Shouse in tonight for the 8th? The guy faced 2 righties tonight(Biggio and Ransom)......and this is different because? Not sure why?? Because despite the W, the on-field boss is an idiot. Well, try to be like Tony LaRussa and Bobby Cox as much as you want. Was there a percentage or number that you played tonight Nedderino? Maybe it was the fact the Shouse gets out Righties almost as well as Lefties? Maybe it is because the Leprechaun, wait for it its a long montage, that tells you to burn who things told you to be patient? Not sure.

I do know that Cordero now has the franchise record for saves, with 40. Ryan Braun, the Hebrew Hammer, is 2 homers away from breaking the Princes record for most by a rookie.

And Jenkins is still a bum.

Way to Go

Wait a minute.....A reliever has just given away the lead....(9:12pm).....yet what does Gorzo the Almighty aka Nasty Ned do? Well, lets just say that there is some more faulty bullpen management going on. Wait...(9:16pm)...the filthy pretentious assholes just scored again and the hook is out. Nice job. The Gritty Veteran sure did his job.

In Case You Were Keeping Track

Yovani Gallardo has just hit a dinger. Way to go Pitch. Let us hope that this lead is not pissed away by an under performing bullpen.

UPDATE(9:24):
So did the Prince

Tail Spin

After the worst display of baseball I have ever seen, and I have watched a lot of baseball, on Friday, we get some poor relief management tonight. With a lefty at the plate, and the bases loaded, we will leave the "new guy" righty in to see how he does, or because he is a "gritty veteran." Now look, I dont like Brian Shouse. But in pressure situations, and a lefty at the plate, he has done pretty well. Shousey also got out of the inning. One batter too long? I know that it is good to bring in the 'pen when the starter has the bases loaded in the middle innings. But to leave a relief pitcher out there after he has loaded them? Lame.

I cant find a clip of the play on Friday, sorry.

Also, a point may be made that Capuano is now useless. I get it. 2 2-run homers in back to back innings is really bad. The guy hasent pitched well since May, but he continues to trot him out there because he is a veteran.....and gritty.

Results

Well, looks like a non game for the starters, as well as a win for the home team. Way to go late inning bats. As well as the Hebrew Hammer.

What to Watch

So the Brewers have some competition on the tube this evening. So I ask you, what are you watching? The Noodle-Armed Retiree toss 2 series, or a Power Drunk Nut Job and his merry band of pranksters?

Season's Over....Good Night Sweet Prince

Well, The first half of Counselino has gone down with a torn ACL. End of Season. It is too bad because he is the Nedster's guy.

Random Reporter: "How does this injury affect the rest of the season?"

Nasty Ned: "Well......I dont know.........he was a gamer.....(suppressed sob).........the kind of player who is just scrappy enough to help this team.........And his effect on the younger player was.....(full on good cry)..........was.....immeasurable.......(Yelling now, tissue firmly in hand)NO MORE QUESTIONS!!"

Hello to Damien Miller playing more first base in the nutty world of Sunday Lineups.

Not that Graffy was a much better option.

Although.......

You cant blame the Nedster(two links if you're good) for this one. It was a breakdown of all facets of the game. Gallardo was due for a meltdown. What we can say is that had they not been shitty since the end of June, this game would not have mattered. I am concerned with the injury to Graffanogood. No.....not really.....But it does mean that Rickie Weeks will be called up again soon. Good luck Scotty, because this may be tight.

WTF

Alright ladies, I am in to sports, but today is a sad one for me. Almost "Too Sad For Cake."

1) Why is it that whenever Derrick Turnbow comes into a game, I get nervous? Well, most likely it is because if he has a runner on, they eventually will score. I dont care if he allows a hit, or walks a runner on....They will probably cross the plate. Case in point, todays game. OK, he allows one hit. Fine. Good. Grand. But what does he do after that? Allows the next 3 hitters to reach. So you pull him when? Dont blame it on Villanueva. The guy is young and has taken his lumps. But also has a 6-2 record. I place the blame on the Neddster. Obviously, he has no idea when his pithcers are not on. It has been proven time and again. When you have a stable of relievers that cant pitch with runners on base, you are not looking that good.

2) Chopper pretty much sums it up. This guy lives in a fantasy world of craziness. "We are going to be better than last year." Lame Ass!!!! Good luck. You should consider yourself lucky that season tickets are sold out for the next 20 years. At least you have that going for you. The way Chopper puts it, I have to disagree with. They will be lucky to get 3 wins this season. Once again, no running back, oft injured first pick, and the only receiver worth anything(although not that much) is hurt. Good luck boys, because winning is a ways away.

3) International like.......The Tour De France is over. When will these people stop taking drugs that make you play better? The last 2 Americans to win are under serious scrutiny. Lame.

Do you Suppose???

Why do you bench a guy, or even two guys, who have been your best players all season?

Why Bench Young Players?
Free polls from Pollhost.com

Think what you will.....But players below the age of 26 should not get tired in a game where a ball may come to you in 1 out of every 5 at bats...........

Shalom!!!!

With tonights dinger, Ryan Braun now has 16 with 43 RBI. Can you say Rookie of the year? Or how about Hunter who? Not to offend, but........
The fact is that the SLG is 100 points over Pence. His OBP is 30 points more. With over 100 less ABs... How can you argue??? The only problem is that he plays for Milwaukee. Until this season, one of the backwaters of Major league Baseball.

Pittsburgh is he City Where We Come From So Run Run

In a game where most know the outcome, it did in fact happen. The Crew dropped a series to the 'Rats. In a spark of total uselessness, Corey Hart got his hit. That is 20 in a row ladies, if you arent keeping count. The best streak in the majors right now, as well as the best since Moli hit for 39. Anyway, back to the topic. The Brewers have played absolutely horrible since the Pirates moved to PNC park. Cant seem to find a link to that record. The "phenom" known as Claudio Vargas once again was yanked in the 6th, and the crew failed to plate runs past Ryan Braun's first frame homer. Now they go to play the Gnats for three at whatever ball yard they play at. Lets hope that they can come up big here.

As far as the Prince in the Home Run Derby, bad idea.....How did Bobby Abreu or Ryan Howard fair after that contest? Not good. I am not a naysayer....though I have had problems with management in the past....But lets hope a sweep is in the future for the Beer Town Ballers!!!!

4

Your Milwaukee Brewers will now have 4 all Stars. One of which is starting. BAD ASS!.

Saturday, June 30, 2007

I Was One Of Them

When the Brewers drafted Prince in the first round, I was one of the naysayers. "He cant hit Curveballs" I would say....."He cant play the field" I would say. But he is now the premier one-sacker in the league. I take back all of the negative things I said about him. Now he has shown me that he is the best first baseman in baseball. Pujols be damed.

Get the Broom Out

It looks as though the Home Town Boys got another sweeperino.......Due to a 65 year old's homer.....Bad Ass. Supcan even pitched pretty well......What will happen to the Crew when they hit the "surging" Cubbies? At the Friendly Confines?....Here is to the Prince putting a helmet to someones leg again, and here is to Your Milwaukee Brewers making the grade for the first time since '82!!!

And Mannay Parra threw a perfect game in AAA

No-No.....No-No

OK, so the Nednoramus went and got his team no-hit last night. No big deal you say......It could have happened to anybody you say.....Verlander was slinging it you say........And I would tell you that you are right. 100%. Except for one small detail. Take a look at this lineup from Brewers.com.

Counsell, 3b
Graffanino, 2b
Hardy, ss
Fielder, 1b
Hart, rf
Jenkins, lf
Estrada, c
Hall, cf
Gross, dh
Let me make this a bit more clear for you......
Counsell, 3b
Graffanino, 2b
Using Simple math, we can determine a line like this for the both of them.
OBP .326.5, SLG .317, AVG .237, RBI 11, All in 131 AB
That is an All-Star if I ever saw one.

Put another way, how can you expect to score any runs when these two guys hit like a couple of pitchers?

Again, being no hit is not a big deal because Verlander in one of the best young arms in the AL. But setting the team up for failure is only one person's fault. Having a different line up for the last five games s not going to win you very many games. More on this can be found here.

Sooner or later, someone in a higher position in the club is going to have to see results like this and give him the hook. Let Mad Dog or Joe Girardi give it a try. Baseball according to Nasty Ned does not seem to be working.

Televised??

Now I like Baseball as much as the next guy, and dont get me wrong, I read the paper and articles about it the day after. But come on now? Most of the players , even to the casual fan, are no names that no one has heard of. Except of course their parents, and the fans of the school that they went to. Compounded with the fact that it generally takes 2-3 years at the least to get to the bigs, and the fact that it is on in the middle of the day? I didnt watch, as I was at work, but it doesnt seem like a ratings smash if you ask me.

With that out of the way.....

With the seventh over all pick, same as the Prince, the Brewers selected Matthew LaPorta, senior, University of Florida. According to his information blurb, he is a hitter in the truest sene of the word. That is, weak on defense, strong on power/average. Brewers.com says that they will immediately move him to left field and start him at Low A West Virginia.

Although I am really impressed that the Brewers brain trust did not take a high school pitcher, I am dissuaded by the fact that this guy had nagging injuries all of his junior year and part of his senior. Also by the fact that he has almost no speed, and an arm "good enough for a first baseman." Outside of that, I look forward to him beating up on A ball high schoolers, taking them yard on a regular basis. Not to mention the fact that he had 15 strikeouts, 55 walks, and 20 homers in his 169 senior at bats. He was the SEC player of the year twice. Not bad for the supposed best conference in NCAA baseball. I tend to like the southwestern conferences my self like the WAC and PAC-10.

Unfortunately, the Crew does not pick until number 101. I will not be watching.

Turblow........Turnblow.........

Please disregard caption, it has nothing to do with this post, so if you are into pictures of implosions, look somewhere else. If you want to read about pitchers imploding, by all means read on.

Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. That I can live with. But bringing in the bullpen's worst two pitchers since Elmer Dessens to get out of a bases loaded jam is ridiculous. I was under the impression that the pen was fairly rested.

Not to mention the fact that Turnblow gets the bases loaded, yet is not yanked after walking the first two hitters he faced. In all fairness to the dudes above, Turnblow can shoulder most of the blame. Nasty Ned's comments after the game were "He just had a bad day." How long before he realises one of two things:

1) If Turnblow walks even one guy, he doesnt have it and needs to be pulled.

2) Any relief pitcher who walks the first two hitters he faces needs to be yanked.

There are those who may say that Turnblow just had a hiccup. Bullocks. How often does he perform when he walks guys to start and inning? He isnt like Co-Co who can bear down and strand that runner. Chalk it up to 5 losses to the Nedster by my count.
