There is a crazy swarm of activity in the "Cheddersphere" about the recent firing of local wingnut Jessica Mcbride. The local southpaws and moonbats are likening it to the firing of Imus and the Commander for their outlandish statements.
The we have the usual suspects saying that there was no reason for the ouster. That what The nice lady did was in no way close to what the nut bars above said. Apparently a simple apology would have sufficed. According to Kosmo, that is the glue that holds society together.
What did the nice lady do you ask? She published, on her WTMJ radio blog, a fictional interview with local columnist Eugene Kane. The reason that she got the axe was because she used a chicken sound effect for Mr. Kane's answers.
What do I think? It was most certainly in poor taste. THe problem is, we will no longer have crazy rehashed wingnuttery to make fun of when Ms. McBride writes stuff. Thats right, I said it, and Im not ashamed. She shouldnt have lost her job because I need something to laugh at. Me. Your humble narrator.
UPDATE: The mighty Folkbum weighs in on this small, useless blog.
