Summerfest

Some interesting observations.....

Pregnant lady, pushing a stroller with one hand, beer in the other.

Selling garbage bags for 3 dollars, and the people who bought them.

Gated entrance to the newest "State Park" in a really long time.

V 100 on one side, Bluegrass music and Hippies on the other, 20 feet apart.

Beer is cheaper than at the Ball Park.

How many people can you pack under a small tent when it rains...lightly.

Anyway, I went to see Buddy Guy. I saw him a couple years ago, and this show was bad ass. Much Better. It is not very often that you get to see Blues Legends and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members for free here in Brew City. AN interesting thing happened about 30 minutes from the end of the show. A certain John Mayer joined Mr. Guy on stage. I will be the first person to tell you that I cannot stand his music. One of my biggest complaint, other than the music is lame, is that he doesnt rock out. And dont we all want to rock out blues, and slower wailing guitar tunes with one of the best. He even sang a line in an old Muddy Waters tune. Another interesting thing was the population explosion at the show. As soon as Mayer came on stage, it seemed like a thousand little ? I will say this however....He is a fantastic guitar player. He was keeping up with the legend the whole time up there, gnashing out rockin honky tonk blues and slower, wailing guitar tunes.

Another interesting thing happened. As soon as Mayer came on stage, the population at the show exploded. The bleachers swelled with a thousand screaming little girls, and some dudes as well. What irked me about this is that the did not care about the legend on stage, just the poppy teeny bopper idol.

All in All, I had a good time at the Fest. I used to go a lot more than I do now, and it was a welcome change of pace.
